An Ambassadors International spokesperson declined comment other than to say that the vessel is still for sale, but Robin Derryberry with The Delta Queen Preservation Foundation says her group’s plan to buy and preserve the steamboat remains active.

Group Hopes To Buy, Operate Delta Queen
The Delta Queen has been leased as a floating hotel in Chattanooga since June of last year. Its cruises were halted after a congressional fire safety exemption was not renewed.
