“The planning commission has already held a public hearing that it needed to and made a recommendation to the council. Once it’s signed by the mayor it will go to public works, and they’ll officially begin changing the actual signage on that section of 34th Street,” said Democratic Caucus Spokesperson Tony Hyatt.
The Metro Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposal, and on September 16th will turn over its findings to the Metro Council. The body has the final say on whether the street will be renamed.
A public hearing will be held Thursday afternoon on the proposed renaming of 34th Street in Louisville. The Metro Planning Commission is accepting comment on a plan to rename the street Louis Coleman Jr. Boulevard.
