Kentucky Derby runner-up Nehro will not run in Saturday’s Preakness Stakes.
Owner Ahmed Zayat says Nehro is responding well after his second-place finish to Animal Kingdom in the May 7 Derby, but has had a busy spring schedule.
The Preakness would be Nehro’s fourth start in eight weeks and Zayat says he wants to be cautious to protect his horse’s health.
Zayat says his plans to enter Nehro in the Belmont Stakes on June 11.
