North Oldham Eliminated From Little League World Series

The North Oldham Little League team’s quest for a World Series title has ended with an extra-inning defeat.

The team from La Grange was eliminated by Georgia 8-5 in the Little League World Series today in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

North Oldham came back from a 5-2 deficit to tie the game in the fifth inning, but Georgia took the lead for good with three runs in the top of the ninth.

The Kentuckians opened the series Friday with a 1-0 win over Pennsylvania, but were eliminated with consecutive losses to California and Georgia.

North Oldham finishes its Little League season with a 15-5 record.

North Oldham Falls In Little League World Series

North Oldham suffered its first loss in the Little League World Series today.

The team from La Grange, representing the Great Lakes Region, fell to Huntington Beach, California, at the tournament in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The World Series is a double-elimination tournament, meaning teams must lose twice to be eliminated.

North Oldham opened series play Friday with a 1-0 win over Keystone, Pennsylvania. The team’s next opponent is Georgia. They’ll square off at 4:00pm tomorrow.

North Oldham Advances In Little League World Series

Griffin McClure struck out 12 batters and provided the only run of the game as North Oldham defeated Keystone, Pennsylvania 1-0 in an opening round game of the Little League Baseball World Series tonight in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Thirteen year old Griffin’s first-inning home run was the only score of the game, played before a record crowd of nearly 42,000 and a national TV audience.

Two strong defensive plays at home plate prevented Keystone from tying the game.

North Oldham will face Huntington Beach, California in second round play Sunday at 6:00pm.

North Oldham Little Leaguers Open World Series Play

The North Oldham Little League baseball team opens play tonight in the Little League World Series.

North Oldham takes on Keystone, Pennsylvania at 8pm in an opening round game in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The team from La Grange is making its first appearance in the 16-team tournament, representing the U.S.Great Lakes Region.

If North Oldham wins tonight they’ll take on the winner of today’s game between the New England and West region teams Sunday at 6:00pm.

If they lose, they’ll play the loser of the New England/West game tomorrow at 8:00pm.

The Little League World Series is a double-elimination tournament; a team has to lose two games to be eliminated.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. The 8:00pm start could be postponed by rain delays of earlier games.
