A redistricting plan put forth by Republicans who control the Indiana legislature would make some major changes to southern Indiana’s 9th Congressional District. The proposed new boundaries were drawn by the House and Senate majorities.
Kentucky’s population has grown to 4.4 million, with 86-percent of residents classified as non-Hispanic whites. That’s down from 89-percent in the previous decade.
“Most council members can find at least a neighborhood or two that has grown or even brand new neighborhoods in their districts. That’s true in my area, in Pleasure Ridge (Park), we’ve had a couple of new neighborhoods and a couple that have expanded significantly,” said Metro Councilman Rick Blackwell.
