Greater Clark Schools Starts Superintendent Search

Indiana’s Greater Clark County Schools board is starting the search for a new superintendent.

It was a difficult board decision last year not renew current superintendent Stephen Daeschner’s contract, despite a rise in student achievement. Daeschner is being paid $225,000 a year while the district is trying to cut nearly $4 million from its budget. That was part of the reasoning behind the decision not to renew the contract.

A search committee met over the weekend to discuss what qualifications the district wants in its next leader, said board president and committee member Christina Gilkey. [click to continue…]
