PNC Financial Services Group Regional President Chuck Denny says a $1 million gift from the company’s foundation will finance the facility.
The Creekside Playground and Sprayground will be built just south of I-64 at Beckley Station Road and Wibble Creek Road. It’s the first major construction for the Parklands of Floyds Fork initiative, 4,000 acres of greenspace and recreational areas.
The Parklands of Floyds Fork project will receive $10 million over the next five years from state government. The non-profit overseeing the project,
says government and private donations now total more than $100 million, and the public phase of its fundraising campaign is still ahead.
The non-profit group that’s creating a four-thousand acre park system along eastern Louisville’s Floyd’s Fork corridor has given the project an official name and brand.
