There are seven statewide offices on the ballot this year – Governor, Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Auditor, State Treasurer and Commissioner of Agriculture.
Gov. Steve Beshear today appointed Bowling Green Mayor Elaine Walker to replace Grayson.
Polls open at 6:00 am local time Tuesday and close at 6:00pm.
Turnout in Kentucky was around 48 percent in 1998 and 2002, and those too were non-presidential election years with U.S. Senate races on the ballot. Turnout for the 2008 presidential election in Kentucky was 64 percent.
