“Last year, we had over 1,200 people walk along the roadways and pick up over 6,000 bags of trash, about 1,400 tires, and they cleaned 11 illegal dumps last year. So hopefully we can beat those figures this year,” said Ricki Gardenhire with the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet.
The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet is now taking proposals for new so-called smart grid energy distribution projects in the state. The Cabinet has $2.65-million in stimulus funds to distribute for smart grid proposals.
