Kentucky Jobless Rate Continues Climb

The state Education and Workforce Development Cabinet says Kentucky’s  seasonally adjusted preliminary jobless rate in June was 10.9%, up from 10.7% in May. It’s the highest since August of 1983, when Kentucky recorded a jobless rate of 11.1%. The national unemployment rate for June was 9.5%. Kentucky’s unemployment rate jumped to 6.7%  in July, up from 6.3%  in June. The jobless rate in July of 2007 was 5.5%.
