This week the Louisville Metro Council Budget Committee will once again consider the Center City project.
Developers have announced plans to renovate two historic buildings in downtown Louisville for housing and commercial space.
This month, the Louisville Metro Council budget committee will likely vote to spend more than $12 million to buy land for the Center City project. But a committee co-chair still has questions about the deal.
This week the Louisville Metro Council could consider a resolution that would bring the Center City project closer to completion.
Financing for Louisville’s downtown arena has been put on hold.
The City of Louisville and the Cordish Company have reached a tentative agreement on the Center City project, but construction may not begin for another year.
In January, a failed attempt to safely drill into bedrock at the Museum Plaza site stopped construction. At the same time, developers announced they would wait for interest rates to improve before borrowing the money needed to resume work. It was hoped builders would be back on the job this month.
