Paul told the Associated Press in an interview Thursday in Louisville that he’s being urged by supporters in several states to make a run if Congressman Ron Paul of Texas does not enter the race.
He told the Post and Courier in Charleston, South Carolina this week that he’s decided only that he would not run against his father, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who’s thinking about seeking the nomination again in 2012. The elder Paul ran for president in 2008.
