Just one pint of blood can save up to three people’s lives, and the need is particularly great during the summer months. We’re doing our part by inviting the American Red Cross into our performance studio for a blood drive – and we’re inviting you as well!

Thursday the WFPL News Department looked in-depth at the history of African-Americans in Louisville.  A new book, Two Centuries of Black Louisville: A Photographic History, reveals much of this history through hundreds of photographs.

News Director Gabe Bullard spoke with the authors of the book, Mervin Aubespin, Kenneth Clay and J. Blaine Hudson, in the WFPL studios.  The coversation is below.

In-Depth Look at Rising College Tuition in Kentucky

WFPL News Director Gabe Bullard hosted an hour-long program looking into the rising tuition costs at Kentucky colleges and universities.  The guests were University of Louisville President Dr. James Ramsey, Jefferson Community and Technical College President Dr. Tony Newberry, and Michael Gritton, the Executive Director of KentuckianaWorks.  The conversation examines the reasons for the rising costs, and asks questions about the ramifications for the Commonwealth, and impact on students.  You can listen in below.
