Louisville Receives Wallace Foundation Grant

by Rick Howlett on February 1, 2012

Louisville is getting a $765,000 grant from the Wallace Foundation to help boost local after-school programs for at-risk children and teens.

Mayor Greg Fischer says the money will also help with the implementation of YouthPrint, an initiative to help youngsters make better use of their out-of-school time.

In announcing the grant, the educational foundation noted the partnership already established between Metro Government, Jefferson County Public Schools and Metro United Way to develop youth support programs.

Louisville is one of nine cities selected by Wallace to receive the grant funds.
