Democrats Continue to Stall Indiana House Business

by Rick Howlett on January 24, 2012

Legislative business in the Indiana House was stalled again this afternoon as most Democrats did not show up for a 1:30pm quorum call.

Much of the Democratic caucus walked out of the chamber last night when Republican Speaker Brian Bosma cut off debate on a controversial right-to-work bill.

The measure would prohibit labor unions at private companies from collecting mandatory representation fees.

Bosma said he would try again to establish a quorum at 3:30pm, adding he hadn’t received any messages from the Democratic caucus.

The Indiana Senate passed its version of a “right-to-work” measure last night.
