Streets Reopen Following Underground Electrical Fire, Officials Say

by Devin Katayama on December 6, 2011

Louisville Metro Police and Metro Safe say officers have cleared their traffic posts following the closure of several downtown streets after an underground electrical fire caused traffic to reroute.

Traffic was previously redirected around First and Second streets, and Market and Main streets.

Crews continue to work on restoring power to all 368 customers that previously lost power, said Captain Salvador Melendez, spokesman for the Louisville Fire Department.
