College Football: Cards Become Bowl-Eligible; UK, IU Fall

The University of Louisville football team is bowl-eligible for a second straight year.    The Cards notched their sixth victory of the season today, defeating host Connecticut 34-20.   U of L is also tied for first place in the Big East Conference heading into Friday’s regular season finale at South Florida.

Kentucky’s hopes for post-season play came to an end today at Georgia, where the Bulldogs beat the Wildcats 19-10.   UK is 4-7, with Tennessee visiting Lexington next weekend.

Indiana fell to 1-10 on the season with a 55-3 loss to number 10 Michigan State.

In college basketball,  U of L defeated Butler 69-53, and Kentucky beat Penn State 85-47.
