The police report on last week’s school bus accident on I-65 has been released.
Kentucky State Police say a tractor-trailer hit the Louisville Collegiate Bus, causing the driver to lose control. The bus then left the highway and turned over. Nineteen people, including 16 fourth graders, were hospitalized after the accident.
The report classifies the event as a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident, and the truck driver may not have known about hitting the bus.
In a statement, Collegiate officials say the report confirms what the bus driver initially reported. All of those hospitalized are expected to make a full recovery and all students are back in school.
