Gahan, Moore Win Southern Indiana Mayorships

Two mayoral races in southern Indiana were also decided Tuesday night.

In New Albany, Democratic candidate Jeff Gahan bested three opponents, one Republican, one Libertarian and one independent. The mayor’s office had been vacated by Democrat Doug England, who sought a seat on the city council.

In Jeffersonville, incumbent Democrat Tom Galligan lost his seat to GOP challenger Mike Moore. Moore is a county commissioner.
