Yarmuth Commemorates Fairness Campaign’s 20th Anniversary

by admin on October 27, 2011

Speaking on the House floor Wednesday, U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, D-Ky., paid tribute to the Louisville Fairness Campaign and recognized its 20th anniversary.

Yarmuth celebrated the gay rights group for launching the social justice movement that eventually led to the passage of the Fairness ordinance, which bars discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals in the city.

“Because of Fairness more Kentuckians are seeing the lines once drawn between us because of sexual orientation and gender identity are only imaginary,” Yarmuth said.
