Today on State of the News

by Laura Ellis on October 14, 2011

Segment A: We’ll check in on the week’s metro news with WFPL’s news staff.

Segment B: We’ll speak with reporters from the Courier-Journal. Peter Smith has written about Dallas Pastor Robert Jeffress calling Mormonism a cult, Amish men in Mayfield being ordered to jail following their refusal to display orange reflective triangles on their buggies, and Archbishop Joseph Kurtz‘s burgeoning career within the Catholic Church. Christ Otts will discuss his coverage of a lawsuit that details Sullivan University’s profits and growth, and the University of Louisville’s extension of its president Dr. James Ramsey‘s contract.

Segment C: We’ll hear journalist Jacalyn Carfagno‘s piece on changes to Kentucky’s Thoroughbred industry, then chat with her about what she learned.
