Cards Hope To Get Back On Winning Track At Cincinnati

by Rick Howlett on October 14, 2011

The annual battle for the Keg of Nails is tomorrow as the University of Louisville football opens Big East Conference play tomorrow at Cincinnati.

The Cards are 2-3 on the season and will face a Bearcats squad that’s off to a 4-1 start.

U of L Coach Charlie Strong says he wants to see his team to hit the field with more enthusiasm.

“There’s no reason for you not to go play with energy, there’s no reason for you not to play with passion. There’s no reason for you not to just go play. (I tell the guys) I don’t care if you’re a freshman or a senior. Once you go play, just go play the game and good things will happen if you play hard,” Strong said this week.

Tomorrow’s kickoff is at noon. Cincinnati leads the series 29-20 with one tie.

Kentucky is idle this week; the Wildcats return to action against Jacksonville State next week in Lexington.

Indiana visits Wisconsin tomorrow.
