Mayor Greg Fischer is encouraging area residents to participate in the season’s first Bike to Work Day this Friday. The event is designed to call attention to the benefits of commuting on a bike, including exercise and saving money on gas.
Bike commuters can meet other bikers in three locations, if they don’t want to ride alone. Groups will be meeting at Seneca, Shawnee and Iroquois Parks at 7a.m. Friday to ride en masse to downtown Louisville.
There will also be a Bike to Work celebration at noon on Friday, where the city is giving away a number of prizes, including a bicycle. To register, click here.
