Beshear Asks for Federal Aid for Farmers

by Gabe Bullard on April 29, 2011

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear is asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture for assistance for farmers in flood-stricken western Kentucky.

Beshear says the federal assistance is necessary to make up for crop losses and infrastructure damage caused by the weather. Beshear’s request applies to farmers in 21 counties, though additional counties could be added later.
