Vacant Property Crisis in Louisville’s West End

Recent census data show that parts of the Shawnee and Portland neighborhoods in west Louisville are 27% vacant. That’s a problem for everyone in the neighborhood and for all of us in the city.  To examine the issues, two guests joined Todd Mundt today on Here and Now:  Monica Brown, who has years of experience in community development, and Renita Rosa, a city planner from the Fuller Center for Housing.  They discuss causes and possible approaches to dealing with the vacant property problem.
