High Winds Buffet Louisville

by Todd Mundt on February 2, 2011

Winds are gusting as high as 40 mph in the Louisville metro area this morning. With temperatures holding steady in the mid 20’s, that means it feels like about 10 degrees outside.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory that remains in effect until 4pm today. Forecasters expect winds to decrease to around 30 mph this afternoon.

In the meantime, there are several reports of intersections with broken traffic lights. Use caution as you approach them.

Several hundred people are without power in Louisville. LG&E’s outage map is available here.
