The University of Louisville men’s basketball coach is preparing to take on additional duties next summer.

Rick Pitino will coach the Puerto Rico national team in an Olympic qualifying tournament.

The tournament is August 25 through September 8 in Argentina.

Pitino says he’s not sure if he would continue to coach the team if it makes the Olympics.

“Preparing for Argentina and that’s it. And then if something else happens I’ll cross that bridge when I come with it. But that’s the commitment I’ve given them,” he said Tuesday.

Puerto Rico must finish first or second in the tournament to advance to the 2012 Olympics in London. Puerto Rico last qualified for the games in 2004.

The U.S. already qualified for the 2012 Olympics by winning the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals travel to Western Kentucky University Wednesday night to play game three of a four game series. Each team has one win at home. Tip-off is at 8:00pm.
