The University of Louisville football team is making final preparations for Tuesday’s Beef O’Brady’s Bowl in St. Petersburg, Florida.
First year head coach Charlie Strong says he’s proud of his team’s turnaround after two straight losing seasons and three straight without a bowl bid.
“We’ve made tremendous strides. We made those strides because of the leadership of our seniors and what they decided to do. I didn’t set any goals of wins or losses. I just wanted to make sure put a product on the field that everyone would be happy about, and each game we got better and better and better,’ he said.
Louisville finished the regular season with a 6-6 record. Southern Miss is 8-4.
Kentucky will play Pittsburgh in the Compass Bowl in Birmingham on January 8.
