Cards Defeat Rutgers, 40-13

by Rick Howlett on November 26, 2010

The University of Louisville football team is now bowl-eligible after a 40-13 victory at Rutgers today.

Running back Bilal Powell caught two touchdown passes and ran for a third as the Cards finished the regular season with a 6-6 record under first-year coach Charlie Strong.

The last time the Cards were bowl-eligible was in 2007, but they weren’t selected for a post-season game. That’s not expected to be the case this year.

U of L’s last bowl appearance was in 2006, when the Cards won the Orange Bowl.
