The Kentucky National Guard’s top chaplain has been selected for a high-ranking U.S. Army post.
Colonel Patrick Dolan began serving last month as the Guard’s Assistant to the Chief of Chaplains for the United States Army.
“It took about a year and a half to get to the Senate, because it has to go through all kinds of bureaucratic hurdles,” he said.
Dolan is the first Roman Catholic priest to serve in the position and would also be the first to achieve the rank of Brigadier General.
He’ll continue to lead two parishes in Casey County, Kentucky.
