Louisville Free Public Library Director Craig Buthod is in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he is one of three finalists to head that city’s library system and will be interviewed for the job this week.
Buthod is a native of Tulsa and worked in the library system there for 17 years. He tells the Courier-Journal that he was contacted about the job by a search firm.
Buthod says it remains to be seen whether he would accept the job if it’s offered.
He says he and his wife are happy in Louisville.
Buthod reports to Mayor Jerry Abramson, whose term ends next month.
A spokesperson for Mayor-elect Greg Fischer says he has not made any hiring decisions on department heads, other than retaining Police Chief Robert White.
