The University of Louisville is hosting the Second Annual Bluegrass Bioneers Conference this weekend.

The event is part of the National Bioneers Conference, touted as the leading sustainability and social solutions event in the country.

Ben Evans, Event Organizer for Louisville, says there will be several speakers via satellite.

“People like James Hansen from NASA who is the world’s leading climate scientist, Jane Goodall gives a talk, Gary Hirshberg who is the CEO of Stonyfield Farm gives a wonderful talk. We also have some incredible live keynotes; Jeff Biggers, who just won the David Brower Award from the Sierra Club and has a new book all about the history of coal and strip mining,” he said.

There will also be food, booths, music and other activities.
