The major-party candidates for three offices will debate this week at the University of Louisville. And two of the debates will be broadcast nationally.
The first debate will be Tuesday between the candidates for the 3rd Congressional District—Democratic incumbent John Yarmuth and Republican Todd Lally. On Thursday, Democratic mayoral candidate Greg Fischer will debate Republican Hal Heiner. And on Sunday, Democratic Senate candidate Jack Conway will debate Republican Rand Paul.
Debate co-sponsor WHAS-TV will broadcast all of the events. Moderator Mark Hebert says two of them will air nationally as well.
“It’s our understanding that C-SPAN has agreed to record the congressional debate between John Yarmuth and Todd Lally as well as the U.S. Senate debate between Rand Paul and Jack Conway to play back at a later date,” he says.
Conway and Paul have already had one nationally-broadcast debate on Fox News. They will appear together on KET later in the month.
