Tributes are coming in from around the state for Robert Sexton.
The longtime education advocate died Thursday in Lexington after a battle with cancer. He was 68.
A Louisville native, Sexton was executive director of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, a non-partisan education advocacy group.
Governor Steve Beshear said in a statement today that Sexton’s passing “leaves an enormous void in our state.”
Sexton is survived by his wife and five adult children.
