Brain Injury Convention Coming to Louisville

by Stephanie Crosby

About 12-hundred visitors will be in Louisville this week for a traumatic brain injury convention. The group is called Pilot International; they work to raise awareness and education about brain injuries.

Spokesperson De Fluker says they start education programs for children as young as four.

“That is to teach children the importance of wearing a helmet, safety belts,” says Fluker, “and then as they get older, we have other tips for them, like gun control and kitchen safety and this type of thing.”

Fluker says they also have education programs for adults, in addition to treatments and safety protocols for those who have experienced a traumatic brain injury.

The convention starts Wednesday at the Galt House.
