Dometic Corporation Moving HQ To Louisville

by Rick Howlett on June 21, 2010

An Elkhart, Indiana company has announced it will move its North and South American headquarters to Louisville, creating nearly 100 new jobs.

Dometic Corporation makes refrigeration units, climate control systems and other products for the RV, maritime and medical industries.

Company President Doug Whyte (pictured) says Dometic has outgrown its current home.

“Because we’re more than just an RV company. We’re a company that’s heavily involved in medical and lodging, in hotel and marine, in other divisions. We were looking for–how do we expand the business? So we needed to be in a new area,” he said Monday.

Whyte says Dometic will begin looking immediately for a relocation site in Louisville and expects the move to take place within several months.

The company is getting up to $3 million in state and local tax incentives for the move.
