Louisville Metro Government officials say they are still working to rectify all of the issues uncovered in a recent report from the office of the State Auditor.
The audit outlined dozens of problems, ranging from poor cash management in the corrections department to improperly trained employees. In a joint meeting of the Metro Council Budget and Government Accountability Committees Wednesday, Director of the Office of Management and Budget Jane Driskell outlined the steps the administration is taking to address the audit.
Driskell says the mayor has agreed to create an accountability team inside of Metro Government.
“This team will be proactive in evaluating the department’s business practices and will provide additional training to departments regarding finance and accounting changes to ensure its accuracy and consistency in financial reporting,” she says.
Driskell’s appearance comes about two weeks after State Auditor Crit Luallen addressed the committees about the initial report.
