Super Saver has won the 136th Kentucky Derby, with jockey Calvin Borel capturing his third Run for the Roses in four years.

It was the first Derby victory for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Ice Box finished second; Paddy O’Prado was third.

The 20 horse field raced on a sloppy track, but the showers that fell on Churchill Downs throughout the day held off for the Derby.

Churchill Downs says attendance for the Derby was 155,804, the sixth largest crowd in Derby history
