The Hart County, Kentucky coroner says eleven people have died in an early morning crash on Interstate-65 involving a tractor-trailer and a van.

Authorities say the northbound van was struck head-on by a tractor-trailer that crossed the median near Munfordville. The truck then hit a rock wall and burst into flames; the driver was among those killed.

Coroner Jeff Roten says the van was carrying a group of Mennonities from the Burkesville area. He says two children survived the crash, but it was not immediately clear exactly how many people were in the van.

The crash occurred about 5:35 Central Daylight Time this morning.
