Louisville Metro Government has paid $150,000 to settle a suit that claimed police used excessive force when they Tasered a man during a struggle in 2007.

The money was paid to the estate of 52 year old Larry Noles, who died after the incident. The coroner ruled his death was not caused by the Taser shock.

A lawyer for Noles’ estate tells the Courier-Journal the settlement will be divided between Noles’ two sons.

Police Chief Robert White ruled after an internal investigation that the officers followed proper procedures during the incident. Noles was taken into custody after officers found him naked at Seventh Street and Algonquin Parkway.

The suit claimed Noles posed no threat.
