Winter Weather Update 4pm

by Todd Mundt on February 8, 2010

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 7pm tonight through 1pm Tuesday

This afternoon, the National Weather Service has updated, and reduced slightly, the snowfall predictions for the Louisville area tonight and tomorrow.

Snow is expected to develop close to midnight across north central Kentucky and south central Indiana. Snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are expected with locally higher amounts possible across south central Indiana.

In the Louisville and Lexington areas, around 4 inches of snow is forecast.

Snow will cover roadways tonight with temperatures at or below the freezing mark. Snow will produce slick and hazardous driving conditions for the morning commute Tuesday. Use extra caution when driving overnight and on Tuesday.

Keep in mind, forecast snow amounts can change if the storm track shifts, or due to other factors, so take note of forecast updates as they’re released by the NWS.
