Fischer Presents Jobs, Economic Plan

by Rick Howlett on February 2, 2010

Louisville mayoral candidate Greg Fischer Tuesday presented his jobs and economic development proposal for the city.

The Democrat says improving the city’s and the region’s transportation infrastructure is a key element of his plan and that includes the Ohio River Bridges Project.

“We must connect, correct and improve cross-river mobility bystarting with the east end bridge, fixing Spaghetti Junction in conjunction with the new downtown bridge and preserve and improve our global best practice of Waterfront Park,” he said.

Fischer also said that if elected he would create an Office of Innovation and Breakthrough to nurture ideas for creating new jobs.

He spoke to supporters gathered at the Vogt Tube Ice Machine Company plant in the Park Hill neighborhood.
