The University of Louisville’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center has received a prestigious national designation for its breast care program.
U of L President James Ramsey says the center is the first in Kentucky to be granted full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
“Accreditation means that right here in Louisville, Kentucky and Jefferson County, Kentucky and in this region…patients have access to state of the art, multi-disciplinary care,” he said.
Center Director Dr. Donald Miller says the distinction comes after a rigorous evaluation process and demonstrated compliance with 27 standards established by the accreditation program.
He says it also means breast cancer patients can be assured that they’re being treated at one of the country’s top facilities.
