A Louisville arts patron died this week. WFPL’s Elizabeth Kramer reports.

Dr. Frederick K. Cressman was 77 and a retired pathologist. He was chief of pathology for nearly 25 years at Audubon Hospital, now called Norton Audubon Hospital.

He and his wife, Elizabeth, recently donated $10 million to the Speed Art Museum and in 2006 gave the University of Louisville $1 million to open the Cressman Center for Visual Arts in downtown Louisville. The center has a gallery and a hot shop for courses in making glass art.

Cressman, a native of Allentown, Penn., died Sunday of pulmonary failure at Kindred Hospital.
