Wayside Using Hotel Ballroom For Holiday Meal

by Gabe Bullard on November 25, 2009

Wayside Christian Mission’s annual Thanksgiving meals will be served out of the mission’s Hotel Louisville site.

Wayside has been running the building as a low-cost hotel for shelter residents for two weeks. On Thursday, the mission will host a free Thanksgiving lunch and dinner out of the building’s grand ballroom. Director Nina Moseley says the ballroom can hold more diners than either of its shelters, and she’s expecting a high turnout.

“I remember Thanksgiving, there were so many people standing in line waiting to eat and it was terrible and not much of a holiday,” she says.

The hotel’s economy rooms are full, as are both emergency shelters.
