A program that gave a portion of alcohol sales to Kentucky Harvest is being renewed and expanded.
For part of this year, Pernod-Ricard and Southern Wine and Spirits distributors gave a portion of money from vodka sales to Kentucky Harvest, which was able to buy meals for families in need across the commonwealth.
Brent Wunder helped organize the program. He says it will continue on a larger scale next year.
“The program ran from April through June, but we’re going to bring it back from April to June in Kentucky, and we’re also going to expand it to Florida, New York, Delaware, South Carolina, Illinois,” he says.
360 thousand meals were donated across Kentucky this year as part of the program, 175 thousand of which went to families in Louisville.
