Kragthorpe: We Have to Win Our Last Three Games

by scrosby on November 9, 2009

The University of Louisville football team was handed another loss last weekend at the hands of West Virginia, but is still hoping to become eligible for a bowl bid.

The Cards’ record falls to three-and-six. Five of those losses have come on the road and four have come at the hands of a Big East conference opponent.

Coach Steve Kragthorpe says of their remaining three games, two are at home, but all are against a Big East team.

“This is the fourth quarter of the season,” says Kragthorpe. “Truly. Because it’s our last 25% of the season, our last three games. So we know we have to win all three to get to a bowl game, and that’s our goal.”

This coming weekend, Louisville faces Syracuse, a team with an identical overall record. Kickoff is set for noon at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Kragthorpe OBVIOUSLY isn’t up for the job at Louisville. MAYBE 3-9 will get him fired, but it sure doesn’t appear that way, considering the way Tom Jurich backs him.
If Jurich wants to keep playing the “If he goes, I go” card, then BYE BYE Tom…hope one of your (apparent) buddies from the MAC or SWAC or MWAC will give you a call….let’s hope you haven’t set the football program BACK two decades.
Oh, wait…you have. You can’t win with the team you have; you can’t recruit to a losing team; you can’t draw fans with a losing team; oh, and your hand-picked coach that’s calling all the offensive plays? Yeah, Tom, they can’t score any points.
This certainly OUGHT to be enough to get a new coiach in there, if not a new AD. HOPING.

Krags is on his way out and will be gone. Sources close to this say that he will be gone but that nothing is being said done or leaked out of respect. Jurich believes, and still does, in Krags but the results are not there and Jurich can’t let down fans this way. it’s over.
