Officials To Announce H1N1 Clinics

by Rick Howlett on November 3, 2009

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness will announce details Wednesday about the city’s first immunization clinics for those at high risk of contracting the H1N1 flu.

The high risk population includes, among others, pregnant women, people who care for children under the age of six months and health care workers.

Limited quantities of H1N1 vaccine began arriving in the region last month for high risk groups.

Officials say more doses will arrive in the coming weeks, and immunization clinics for the general public will be held when there are ample supplies on hand.

Jefferson County Public Schools officials are awaiting word on when to hold vaccine clinics for students, but are looking at late this month or early December.

Parents will receive information packets when firm dates have been set.
