by Rick Howlett on October 8, 2009

A Louisville high school principal abruptly retired last week after being confronted with accusations of inappropriate behavior.

Dave Wilson notified Jefferson County Public Schools officials of his retirement from Male High School on September 29.

JCPS spokesperson Lauren Roberts says officials had been investigating a series of complaints against Wilson, including one that he showed staff members a surveillance video of two students having sex in the cafeteria. Roberts says thatallegation was substantiated.

“We were also able to verify that on a recent school event that he did have alcohol on his breath at that event,” Roberts said.

Wilson had been principal at Male since 2000 and worked in the school system for three decades. He has not commented publicly about the situation.
