The University of Louisville football team takes on Utah in Salt Lake City this weekend.
The Cards are coming off a 31-27 loss to Kentucky last weekend. Coach Steve Kragthorpe says the Utes will be a tough opponent.
“It’s going to be a great challenge,” says Kragthorpe, “They’ve won 23 of their last 25 games. They’ve got eight starters coming back on the defensive side of the ball. They’re very, very good on defense.”
The Utes are also coming off a loss to Oregon – in fact, their first loss in 17 games.
Kragthorpe says they’re being mindful of the time change during travel, but he isn’t concerned about the atmosphere.
“People are going to make a big deal about the altitude, I mean, we’re not frikkin’ going to play on Mt. Everest here,” says Kragthorpe. “We’re going to 42-hundred feet. It’s not that big a deal. And in fact, I think our guys will like the weather better because it’s a lot drier, you’re not going to sweat as much.”
Utah is 2-1 on the season. The Cards record this season is 1-1.
Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 eastern.
Meanwhile, the Kentucky Wildcats host top-ranked Florida Saturday at 6:00pm. IU travels to Michagan
for a noon kickoff.
